Winning Work: "Song of the Fallen: In Remembrance of Those We Have Lost"
About Work: This is a wind ensemble piece I wrote written in honor and remembrance of two of my friends who passed away suddenly in 2015 at young ages. Solos by the instruments that they played represent them in the piece and I am represented by the Euphonium/Piano/French Horn solos because those are instruments that I have played along side both Abby and Zach.

Winning Work: "As The Sun Rises"
About Work: This is a wind ensemble piece that portrays the beauty of the sun rising and busyness that develops throughout the day. It almost gives the impression of the sun rising on an African Savannah with animals waking. Later as the stomp section comes in, it represents the animals going about their regular day, living, playing, eating, and enjoying life. As the work comes to end, it depicts the sun beginning to set with return of the opening theme. The work is majorly based on one opening theme that is developed by adding variation to it as well as other accompanying counter melodies.
