As The Sun Rises (2015)
wind ensemble (medium, grade 3)
approx. duration: 5 minutes
This is a wind ensemble piece that portrays the beauty of the sun rising and busyness that develops throughout the day. It almost gives the impression of the sun rising on an African Savannah with animals waking and as the stomp section comes in, you hear the animals going about their regular day, living, playing, eating, enjoying life, and then as the work comes to end the sun begins to set with the opening them returning. The work is majorly based on one opening theme that is developed by adding variation to it as well as other accompanying melodies.
